During your course we will provide;

  • A course manual, handouts and pen
  • Refreshments throughout the day
  • Any equipment required to complete the course
  • A microwave, fridge and toaster will be provided for delegate use if the course is held at a Zero Gravity Safety Location

Course Overview

This course is designed to provide an understanding of how to use fall arrest techniques and equipment for simple work at height activities.

Who is the course for?

For those working in low risk environments such as workshops and factories where access is simple and anchors are easily identifiable. This course would also benefit anyone who uses mobile elevated work platforms and ladders frequently.

  • The dangers of working at height
  • Key legislation and standards
  • Hazards and risk encountered when working at height
  • Syncope – what causes it and how to recognise and deal with the effects
  • How to deal with emergency situations – includes requirement for rescue and emergency procedures
  • Work categories – an introduction to ladders/restraint/position/fall arrest techniques
  • Equipment characteristics and limitations
  • Fitting and use of fall arrest harness, climbing helmet and lanyards (fixed length and inertia reels)
  • MEWP safety – correct use of PPE
  • Anchor point identification, selection and
  • re-use inspection requirements
  • Ladders and steps safety, inspection and use
  • PPE pre-user inspection, care, traceability and disposal requirements
  • Examination

  • A photograph may be required to be taken on the day for ID card issuing purposes
  • We may also take general photographs for social media purposes etc… If you do not wish to be included in any, please inform your instructor
