Course Details

This course is designed to provide workers with the knowledge and skills which enables them to work safely at height. It creates the necessary skills and knowledge base to meet the requirements for a competent person as defined under the worker at height regulations 2005 allowing them to select and use a variety of fall protection equipment.

  • Understand the principles of work at height
  •  Understand the requirements of a workplace health and safety risk assessment
  • Understand the factors that influence selection of work at height equipment
  • Anchorage Systems – Horizontal / Vertical (EN795 all types)
  • Body Support – Harness Inspection, donning and use
  • Connectors – Lanyards and Rope Grabs (EN354, EN353)
  • A demonstration in the correct method of inspection, storing and maintaining personal protective equipment.
  • Access ways – protected & unprotected.
  • To climb and work at height using lanyards and associated safety equipment. – Lanyards and Rope Grabs (EN354, EN353)
  • Practical Assessment ONLY  
This Qualification is aimed at people who are required to work at height but at different locations and require the skill and knowledge to be able to select and use different methods of anchorage and fall protection systems to suit, such as lanyards, vertical systems and horizontal man-safe systems.

Can all delegates provide their own safety footwear (Steel toe cap boots), and comfortable working clothing. Gloves are mandatory during practical’s please ensure they are brought with you

  • Please ensure you bring a form of ID to verify identity (required by some Awarding Organisations) 
  • A photograph may be required to be taken on the day for ID card issuing purposes
  • We may also take general photographs for social media purposes etc… If you do not wish to be included in any, please inform your instructor
