The Basic Tower Climbing & Rescue scheme was developed in collaboration with the industry group MATS (Mast and Tower Safety) and Launched in early 2020. It’s been designed to support the ongoing  safety of those who work on masts and towers in various industries.

The scheme provides a framework to support consistency and relevance in training provision and assessment of competence as well as the relevant requirements of HSE legislation.

From 1 Jan 2020, individuals climbing masts and towers and those who need to renew their current climbing training certificates, will need to undertake the Basic Tower Climbing & Rescue initial course available through Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) Approved Providers.

Zero Gravity Safety gained this EUSR approval for the delivery of MATS Basic Tower Climbing & Rescue Schemes.

Delegates can either complete a 3 day initial course (MATS) Basic Tower Climbing and Rescue Scheme for new starters, or for more experienced delegates who have already attained the initial course registration, a 1 day (MATS) Basic Tower Climbing and Rescue renewal can be undertaken.
