Refreshments throughout the day
Any equipment required to complete the course
A microwave, fridge and toaster will be provided for delegate use if the course is held at a Zero Gravity Safety Location

Course Overview

Breathing Apparatus is a protective measure used to protect the user against an atmosphere containing toxic gases, vapour or particulates as well as atmospheres where oxygen concentration will not support human respiration. Specialist training and assessment is required to equip those undertaking this type of work with the necessary skills and competencies to work safely in an atmosphere where these hazards are prevalent.

Who is the course for?

This particular course embodies the skill and knowledge elements, as part of the requirement for candidates to become competent. All persons who are required to use full working breathing apparatus.

Contents Covered

■ Follow procedures regarding the carriage and use of Self Contained Open Circuit (SCOC) breathing apparatus

■ Confirm the suitability of the SCOC breathing apparatus for the task

■ Carry out pre-use safety and user tests to confirm the SCOC breathing apparatus and its fit comply with current legislation, manufacturers’ specifications and approved codes of practice

■ Resolve any problems with the SCOC breathing apparatus and report non-conformities

■ Fit and adjust the designated SCOC breathing apparatus

■ Wear the designated SCOC breathing apparatus to perform the task

■ Carry out after use checks on the SCOC breathing apparatus

Requirements

Persons attending this course must be medically fit.

PPE Required

Can all delegates provide their own safety footwear (Steel toe cap boots), and comfortable working clothing. Gloves are mandatory during practical’s please ensure they are brought with you

ID & Photos

Please ensure you bring a form of ID to verify identity (required by some Awarding Organisations)
A photograph may be required to be taken on the day for ID card issuing purposes
We may also take general photographs for social media purposes etc… If you do not wish to be included in any, please inform your instructor
